AXIOS Project Co-Founder George Behrakis participated in a panel discussion at the 9th Southeast Europe Energy Forum, hosted by the American-Hellenic Chamber of Commerce, focused on America’s Climate & Energy Pivot: Implications for Greece and Southeast Europe – The Maritime Perspective.
The forum convened senior leaders from government, industry, and policy to examine how shifting U.S. energy priorities, climate innovation, and clean energy investment are reshaping transatlantic cooperation. The panel featured former U.S. Assistant Secretary of State for Energy Resources Geoffrey Pyatt, Afroditi Xydi of the Deon Policy Institute, and industry experts from the maritime and energy sectors.
Discussion centered on Greece’s expanding role as a pillar of regional energy security, the opportunity to position Greece as a hub for clean technology and sustainable investment, and the importance of U.S.–Greece collaboration in accelerating decarbonization across Southeast Europe. AXIOS Project’s participation emphasized the role of the global Greek diaspora in bridging policy, capital, and innovation to drive the region’s energy transition.
Through its engagement at forums like this, AXIOS Project continues to advance its mission of mobilizing diaspora leadership to support climate solutions, energy resilience, and long-term sustainability for Greece and the broader region.
